Meet the Team
Nicole Antaya, LCSW
Nicole has garnered much of her experience in working in a variety of levels of care, including residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs. She has built a specialization and passion for working with individuals, children, couples, family, groups, teens, adults, LGBTQIA+ , eating disorders, and medically vulnerable populations. Nicole believes that individualized care is key to growth, exploration and reaching the goals that are crucial to the patient. Nicole’s treatment modalities and specialties are eating disorders, mood disorders, LGBTQIA+ populations, ASD, ADD (combined type), RODBT, mindfulness techniques, medically vulnerable populations and chronic illness, motivational interviewing, CBT and trauma informed care. She is also trained in dissociation protocol relating to trauma and is fascinated with cell memory theory.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Quinnipiac University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University, where again she graduated Magna Cum Laude. They have interned at the Yale Pediatric Psychiatric Ward, the Connecticut General Assembly in Hartford, Connecticut, and United Way at the Coordinated Access Network. Nicole wrote their thesis at Quinnipiac in 2019 entitled “Factors Involving and Cultivating Posttraumatic Growth in Populations with Trauma”. Her Master’s capstone project was entitled “CARE: Community Action Resources & Education”.
Nicole is a volunteer at Student Organ Donation Advocates, as a National Advisory Board Member and Secretary since 2020. She also was the President and Founder of Student Organ Donation Advocates for the Quinnipiac University Chapter. Nicole’s focus of study was Children and Families, they recognize the complexities, psychoeducation and coordination of care that is essential for working with patients with eating disorders, acute and chronic mental health concerns and care of their families. Their career goals are to always continue learning by focusing on providing emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance techniques and evaluating core beliefs and cognitive distortions so her patients and clients can thrive.
She loves spending time with her family and friends, thriving on roller coasters, enjoying the micro- moments in life, and spending time in nature and meditating.
