Outpatient Detox

Remain close to home while prioritizing your treatment

Outpatient detox refers to a structured and supervised treatment program designed to assist individuals in safely withdrawing from drugs and alcohol while living at home or in a supportive environment. It is an alternative to inpatient detoxification, which typically requires individuals to stay in a specialized facility for the duration of their detox process.

Outpatient detoxification offers several advantages for individuals who are committed to recovery but do not require intensive medical supervision. It allows individuals to continue their daily routines, such as work, school, or family responsibilities, while receiving the necessary care and support to overcome substance abuse.

During outpatient detoxification, individuals work closely with a team of experienced medical professionals, counselors, and support staff who specialize in addiction treatment. These professionals provide personalized treatment plans tailored to the individual’s specific needs and circumstances.

Our Process

Begins with a thorough assessment conducted by our Dr. Elsamra, our Psychiatrist and Medical Director who specializes in addiction treatment, to determine the severity of the substance abuse, overall health condition, and any co-occurring mental health disorders. Based on this assessment, a comprehensive detoxification plan is developed, taking into account factors such as the type and quantity of substances used, medical history, and individual preferences.

Outpatient detoxification typically involves the following elements:

1

Medical Monitoring:

Throughout the detoxification process, individuals are closely monitored by medical professionals who can address any potential medical complications and ensure their safety and comfort. Medications may be prescribed to manage withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings.
2

Counseling and Therapy:

Individual and group counseling sessions are an essential part of outpatient detoxification. These sessions aim to address the underlying causes of addiction, develop coping strategies, and provide ongoing emotional support. Counseling may also involve family members or close friends to foster a supportive environment. Clients are able to work with the same treatment team throughout their recovery journey. Many clients participate in our Intensive Outpatient Program, which has a high rate of long term success.
3

Education and Skill-building:

Outpatient detoxification programs often provide educational sessions to help individuals understand addiction, its effects on the body and mind, and strategies for relapse prevention. Skill-building activities may focus on developing healthier habits, improving coping mechanisms, and enhancing life skills.

4

Support Network:

Outpatient detoxification encourages individuals to build a strong support network consisting of peers, mentors, and support groups. These connections can provide understanding, encouragement, and accountability throughout the recovery journey.

5

Aftercare Planning:

Upon completion of the detoxification program, a comprehensive aftercare plan is developed to support ongoing recovery. This plan often includes referrals to work with a member of our treatment team for individual counseling, and also attendance at our Recovery Maintenance Groups which are also led by licensed therapists who specialize in treating addiction and supporting long term recovery efforts.

Outpatient detoxification offers individuals the opportunity to overcome substance abuse in a supportive and flexible setting. By combining medical care, counseling, education, and ongoing support, this approach empowers individuals to take control of their lives and embark on a path of sustained recovery.
