Meet the Team
Heather Skoog
Heather is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Fairfield University. She is excited to be a part of Elevate Health & Wellness and build meaningful and long-lasting relationships throughout her time as an intern. Heather has her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has professional experience working with and supporting individuals in a variety of settings to enhance their overall well-being and quality of life.
Heather practices using an integrative approach, including Psychodynamic and Attachment theories, to counsel in a manner that honors the uniqueness of each client and their life story. She is interested in counseling those facing challenges related to childhood and upbringing, loneliness, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, depression, and anxiety. She understands that many of us travel through life with thoughts, feelings, and memories that we wish to process but may struggle to find a place to do so. Heather fosters a space of acceptance, gentle guidance, and safety to share freely. Heather understands the personal strength required to seek support, and she honors this strength through consistently person-centered care.
Outside of her professional and academic life, Heather loves being in nature, connecting with friends and loved ones, and a good book.
